Project Snapshot
- Client Tommy Bahama
- Location Queenstown
- Scope Retail electrical, audio visual, security, and digital media
- Systems Delivered Electrical, lighting, emergency lighting, POS infrastructure, digital media, CCTV and security, background audio, structured cabling
Evolve was engaged to deliver the complete electrical and technology infrastructure for Tommy Bahama's new Queenstown retail store — supporting both day-to-day operations and the premium in-store customer experience the brand is known for.
From electrical and lighting through to CCTV, digital media, background audio, and structured cabling, every system was installed and commissioned as one coordinated package to support the store opening programme.
Retail fit-outs run on a different rhythm to most commercial work. Programmes are tight. Multiple trades are on site at once. And the opening date doesn't move — every system has to be installed, tested, and ready to trade by the day the doors open to customers.
For Tommy Bahama's Queenstown store, Evolve delivered the full electrical and technology scope as a single coordinated package, working alongside the wider project team to keep every system on programme through to handover.

The full retail electrical fit-out was delivered through to handover — including power distribution, point-of-sale infrastructure, emergency lighting, and the architectural and feature lighting that does so much of the work in shaping how a retail space feels.
In a premium retail environment, lighting is part of the brand experience. The lighting design supports product display, customer movement through the store, and the warm in-store atmosphere Tommy Bahama is known for — all powered by an electrical layer designed to support the operational reality of a working store.

Digital media display systems were installed throughout the store, giving Tommy Bahama a flexible communications layer for brand content, product promotions, and in-store campaigns.
Every screen was integrated with the supporting cabling and infrastructure from day one — built to be managed and updated centrally rather than touched manually each time content changes.

Integrated CCTV and security infrastructure was installed across the store — designed alongside the network and electrical scope rather than as a separate bolt-on system.
That coordination matters in retail. Cameras placed properly, cabled cleanly, integrated with the rest of the store's technology environment, and ready to support loss prevention and operational visibility from day one of trading.

A background audio system was installed across the store to support the in-store atmosphere — tuned for clarity and coverage at the right volume to complement the shopping experience rather than overwhelm it.
Speaker placement, audio zoning, and music levels all play a part in how a retail environment feels. Get it right and customers stay longer. Get it wrong and the brand suffers in ways that don't always show up on the balance sheet.

Projects like Tommy Bahama show the benefit of integrating electrical, security, audio, digital media, and technology infrastructure under a single delivery team. Smoother installation, simpler coordination, and a retail environment ready to operate from day one.
